The body of a Class 12 girl, who went missing last week, was found a few yards from the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's residence and the DGP office on Monday. The girl was raped before she was murdered.
The teenage victim, a student of RLB school, left home on her bicycle five days ago to take her practical exam but never reached the school. She was kidnapped and brutalised by her tormentors before her dead body was dumped at a high security zone in Park Road area, which is perceived as a mockery of law enforcement agencies.
The police recovered the mobile phone of the victim from one of the suspects, Sadguru Lodh, a rickshaw puller, from Haidrgarh area nearby Barabanki district.
According to SSP , Lucknow, Rajesh Pandey, the girl was murdered after rape. The SSP said that victim’s mobile became active on Sunday, which helped the police to trace the locations of the suspects.
The officials have also taken Lodh's accomplice Dipu in custody.
On the basis of their information, the body of the victim was found near Haider Canal. Surprisingly, the body had been lying at the high security zone for several days but the police could not get a wind of it.
The IG zone Satish Ganesh said both the suspects were subjected to medical examination.
The autopsy report of the victim, meanwhile, confirmed that she was brutally raped and further revealed that a rod was inserted in her private parts. She had also sustained head injuries. According to the medical report, she died of profuse bleeding and shock.
After the incident came to light, Akhilesh took cognizance of the case and directed Director General of Police to investigate the matter personally.
