POLL CODE VIOLATION

UP police give clean chit to Amit Shah

Amit-Shah-surgical BJP chief Amit Shah

BJP President Amit Shah heaved a sigh of relief as Uttar Pradesh police gave him a clean chit in two separate cases of violation of model code of conduct. The Muzaffarnagar police submitted its final report to the Chief Judicial Magistrate-one, and the court will take up the matter for hearing on January 3 and January 17.

Shah was accused of violating code of conduct while campaigning in two villages in Kalkrauli area during the Lok Sabha elections in 2015. A case was filed against him by Sub Divisional Magistrate Baburam and duty officer Ram Kumar who were deployed at the area.

Though the police had earlier filed a final report, the court refused to accept it and directed the cops to probe the matter again.

Now, the police submitted the final report again and maintained that they could not find enough evidence against Shah. The court has issued notices to the officers so that they can also put forth their views before it.
