About 30 Trinamool Congress MPs were, on Thursday, detained by police while they were again trying to march to the Prime Minister's residence to protest the arrest of their party colleagues Sudeep Bandyopadhaya and Tapas Paul in the Rose Valley chit fund case.

Accusing the government of indulging in vendetta politics, TMC MPs raised slogans of "Modi hatao, desh bachao" (remove Modi, save country} before they were taken into custody and taken to Mandir Marg police station.

TMC MPs had, on Wednesday, taken out a protest march and were detained at Tughlaq Road police station for about three hours.

According to TMC, the MPs were taken into custody by police when they were on their way to PM residence at Lok Kalyan Marg.
