With the Assembly elections round the corner, social media has become the new platform for Kerala politicians to express their views and counter their opponents.
S.Sreesanth, Bharatiya Janata Party candidate in Thiruvanathapuram, is exploring all the possibilities of Twitter to reach out to his voters. A day after he faced a spate of social media trolls over his tweet calling Kerala a city, the controversial cricketer has locked horns with Congress leader and MP Shashi Tharoor.
The slugfest began with Tharoor posting a tweet apparently suggesting that Sreesanth do his homework before going for a TV show. Tharoor also linked his tweet to an interview Sreesanth had with a national TV channel recently.

In no time came Sreesanth's reply where he attached a snippet of a quote of Chanakya—“If there is an unrest among pseudo intellectuals and criminals, it's sure the king is in the right direction.” The snippet also carried a photograph of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to an Onmanorama report, Sreesanth also accused the MP of not helping him during his troubled days, in a reference to the spot-fixing allegations and trials against him. However, he deleted the tweet soon after posting it.
Sreesanth had recently stirred up a Twitter storm after he posted a tweet mentioning Kerala as a city. The trolls continued to pour in even after he clarified that what he intended was Thiruvananthapuram, not the state.
