Do you think finding a hotel room for the prime minister is an easy job for the government? You may be wrong.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his entourage did not get accommodation at Hotel Lalitha Mahal Palace in Mysuru, prompting the district administration to frantically look for other suitable places. The iconic hotel said all their rooms had been booked for a wedding reception.

The hotel management confirmed that officials from the deputy commissioner's office had approached them to book rooms for the prime minister and his staff.

"We were not in a position to do so as most of the rooms were booked for a wedding reception," said hotel general manager Joseph Mathias.

He said only three rooms were available at the hotel, and  it was not advisable to book just three rooms for a big staff.

The district administration later made arrangements for Modi and his team at Hotel Radisson Blu. Even at Radisson, the hotel management is said to have advised a businessman's family to reschedule the wedding reception.

Modi arrived in Mysuru to participate in the Bahubali Mahamasthakabhisheka Mahotsava at Shravanabelagola in Hassan. The prime minister also flagged off "Palace Queen Humsafar Express" between Mysuru and Udaipur.
