Bharatiya Janata Party MP Shatrughan Sinha once again put the party in an embarrassing position after he invited Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to release a book written on him.

Sinha reportedly said that he would also invite Rashtriya Janata Dal president Lalu Prasad Yadav. Both Nitish and Lalu had successfully led the grand secular alliance against the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance in the recent Assembly polls.

The actor-turned-politician termed Nitish as a 'dear friend' and said that he met the chief minister at his residence on Wednesday to invite him for the event in Patna scheduled for the third week of March.

The 'Bihari Babu' has been at odds with the BJP and on good terms with the rival camp after being sidelined by his party in the elections. The latest development follows the separate meetings Sinha had held with Nitish and Lalu earlier this week leaving the BJP leaders in the state fuming.

The book, Anything but Khamosh, was written by a Mumbai-based journalist and was first released in Delhi by senior BJP leader L.K. Advani last month. The biography has been published by Om Books International and penned by Bharati S. Pradhan.
