"The BJP is using me to entice others to join their party"

Senior Congress leader Kamal Nath dismissed reports of him joining the BJP. Said Kamal Nath to THE WEEK, "It is all rubbish and nonsense. The BJP is using me to entice others to join their party. I am a Congressman forever."

There were reports in some sections of the media that Kamal Nath will join the BJP and be inducted as a cabinet minister. The BJP has been apparently sending feelers to senior Congress leaders who are unhappy about being sidelined in the party. A former Union minister in the UPA government, Kamal Nath is the lone Congress MP from Madhya Pradesh. He represents the Chhindwara constituency in the state. Last month, S.M. Krishna, former chief minister of Karnataka, quit the Congress and joined the BJP.
