During the inaugural session of the three day meet of RSS All India Executive Committee on Oct 12, RSS joint general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale said that, there has been a remarkable increase of 52 per cent of new RSS members compared to last year figures, particularly the techno savvy youth.

Hosabale, referring to the expansion of RSS, said that 550 new shakhas (branches) have been added to the existing ones, taking the total number of shakhas in the country to 49493. He said, through special drives like 'Join RSS', there has been an increase of 48 per cent from the previous year, largely by young men between the age of 20 to 35.

He said that over 350 delegates from 11 regions and 42 RSS prants from all over India are participating in the meet. The bi-annual meeting was inaugurated today by the Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat. Earlier during the preparatory meetings Bhagwat reportedly asked the representatives to increase the presence of RSS among adivasis and Dalits.

According to sources he asked the pracharaks to work in the areas where conversion is an issue. He told them to stop conversion along with the top objective of expansion of RSS.

The meeting is likely to discuss a wide range of issues including Rohingya muslim infiltration, economic slow down particularly the decision of demonitisation and GST and killings of RSS cadre in Kerala.

The meeting is also attended by members from the affiliate organisations like BJP, Swadeshi Jagran Manch, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, Vishva Hindu Parishad and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad. On Oct 11, RSS prachar pramukh Manmohan Vaidya said that “the three day meeting will not pass any new resolution but will review the old road map decided three years back when the new sarkaryawah was elected.”

Hosabale said that our focus is to prepare the plan for next year when the new sarkarayawah will be elected in March 2018. The executive meeting called Akhil Bharatiya Karyakarini Mandal (ABKM) Baithak began with a special exhibition called ‘Dharohar’ on the lives of great people. The exhibition had photographs and works of Padma bhushan Kushok Bakul Rinpoche, Sister Nivedita, Guru Gobind Singh and RSS founder Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar.

Earlier speaking to media on the issue of BJP chief Amit Shah's entrepreneur son Jay Shah, Hosabale said that,"If corruption allegations against anyone has been levelled, they should be investigated. But there has to be prima facie evidence of wrong-doing." He said that those who had levelled allegations must prove that they have evidence.
