West Bengal BJP MP Roopa Ganguly entered the circuit house in Midnapore town forcefully and held meeting with her party members.

The actor-turned-politician, who was nominated to the Rajya Sabha by President Pranab Mukherjee, had gone to Midnapore town along with a few party members. They went straight to the government circuit house which was closed.

She asked the guards to open the gate. The guards, however, refused to do so, saying the permission of the district administration was required to open circuit house.

A fuming MP shouted, “I am an MP. Do I need a permission?"

Meanwhile, a team of policemen, led by an additional superintendent of police reached the spot. The officer told the MP that she can go inside, but not her party members. "Yes. Being an MP you can get inside. But please take possession of the room not with a large number of people," he said.

Enraged, the MP asked, "Why can't I? They are my guests. I will hold meeting with all of them...Is it the personal property of Mamata di?"

The West Bengal government has ordered a probe into the incident after a police report.

Meanwhile, the BJP will hit the streets of Kolkata on Tuesday to protest alleged rigging in the recent local body polls.
