Bharatiya Janata Party MP Subramanian Swamy, who has been firing salvos at top babus through his Twitter handle, faced an unexpected counter-attack from Robert Vadra, son-in-law of Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Friday.
Vadra, in his latest Facebook post, took a jibe at Swamy over the latter's comment on the dressing style of ministers. Vadra said Swamy's comment has undermined the hard work of waiters.
The BJP MP had earlier tweeted that ministers wearing coat and tie look like waiters. “BJP should direct our Ministers to wear traditional and modernised Indian clothes while abroad. In coat and tie they look like waiters,” Swamy had said in his tweet.
Vadra countered his remarks saying, “making condescending and derogatory remarks about them is deplorable and classist...” He asked whether there is no dignity in being a waiter.
