A 21-year-old girl was gangraped for the second time by the same five men who had raped her three years ago in Haryana. The girl, who is pursuing her master's degree, was abducted by the accused from near her college. She was later found lying unconscious in bushes in Sukhpura Chowk area with her clothes torn and was immediately rushed to the hospital.
The survivor was first attacked by the men in 2013. After a complaint was filed, the accused started threatening her family, forcing them to move to Rohtak. The recent attack was seen as an attempt to pressurise the girl to withdraw the case, police said.
All the five accused are in their late twenties and are former students of the same college in which the girl studies.
The survivor's family said two of the five accused were arrested in 2013, but were out on bail. They have now filed a fresh case and demanded their immediate arrest.
"The accused wanted to reach a compromise outside the court, but we remained firm. That's why they attacked her again," the girl's brother said.
Women police station house officer (SHO) Garima said, "The girl has been medically examined and a case is being registered against the accused named by her." The police said they were examining the details of previous gangrape case registered by the survivor.
