Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on Monday inaugurated six railway projects in Kerala, including the newly-built 9.6km long Tiruvalla-Chengannur double line, through video conferencing.
He said the ministry has chalked out a comprehensive plan for developing railways through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) and Joint Ventures with the state governments.
Besides, the Tiruvalla-Changannur double line which would ease congestion in the Ernakulam-Kottayam-Kayamkulam section, facilities include laying of foundationstone for extension of foot over bridge at Kozhikode station,inauguration of a new platform at Palakkad, inauguration of Wi-Fi services and escalator at Thrissur and inauguration of an escalator at Thiruvananthapuram Central.
