On Monday, Vishwa Hindu Parishad workers alleged that their international working president Pravin Togadia was picked up by Rajasthan Police—a claim which the police refuted. It was later found that the VHP leader had gone missing.

Later, Togadia was found in a “semi-conscious” condition and shifted to Chandramani Hospital in Ahmedabad . On Tuesday morning, the VHP leader alleged that attempts were being made to silence his voice and he asked the police not to act under political pressure.

Togadia had claimed that he only remembered having told an auto-rickshaw driver to take him to Dhanvantari Hospital in Bapunagar and claimed that he does not know how he ended up in Chandramani Hospital.

The case does not end here as there are glaring discrepancies in Togadia's version of events and what the police had to say.

Ahmedabad Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) J.K. Bhatt said on Tuesday evening that Togadia had gone in a car (towards airport) and had called up 108 (emergency service) from his driver's phone.

When the ambulance reached, Togadia was alone in the car and his driver had gone away.

The investigations have also revealed that Togadia refused to take treatment offered by the ambulance service, said police. The VHP leader demanded that he be taken to Chandramani Hospital, the probe revealed.

According to sources, Togadia is expected to be questioned by the police.
