Reacting to Union Minister of State for Employment and Skill Development Ananth Kumar Hegde who said the Centre would amend Constitution to remove the word secular from it, actor Prakash Raj said the minister has resorted to comments.

Venting out his ire against the "seculars" at a public function in Koppal district on Sunday, the minister had said, "Seculars do not know what their blood is. Yes constitution has given that right to say 'we are secular and we will say it'. Yes, I know but constitution has been amended many times, we will also amend it. We have come to power for that,' reported ANI.

Irked by the minister's remarks, the actor took to Twitter to pen an open letter to Hegde. Prakash Raj said the minister has expressed cheap comments regarding blood and the parentage of people who are secular.

He said being secular does not mean not identifying with a particular religion. Secularism is respecting and accepting different religions, the actor pointed out.

The actor further asked Hegde, "When will you wake up from hour hate reaping."
