Pawan Kalyan to support silent protest in AP for special status

Power star Pawan Kalyan was a busy man for the past few days, using the support of social media, especially Twitter, to drum up support for all the causes that he is fighting for. In recent times, he has admiringly talked about the Tamils fighting for 'Jallikattu' and how they all got together and protested silently to push the Centre and pass an ordinance. Apparently a Bill is in the offing.

"Social media has given this movement several names, including `APDemandsSpecialStatus' and APSelfRespectMoment,' with a request to follow the social media if personal attendance was difficult. The venue for this silent protest is at the Ramakrishna Beach in Visakhapatnam on 26th January. The youth apparently have been watching the Jallikattu scene unfold and when the Tamils won, the demand for Special Status to AP gained significance."

In fact, when Pawan Kalyan announced that he will be joining politics once he completes his schedule for the promised films, his first major public meeting was in Kakinada where he had said that he would take everyone to task if Andhra Pradesh was not granted special status. After that at various other places, he took up various other subjects and the one of `special status' did not come up, till now.

Whether the 'silent protest' at RK Beach will be a one day affair or will continue for long — one does not know — and whether PK will inspire a crowd to make this demand heard by the Centre, one will have to wait and watch. Meanwhile how the state government reacts and what the law and order on the day in Vizag will also be worth watching.
