A youth has allegedly shot himself to death during a video call with his girlfriend in Patna.
The incident took place on Monday, when the 19-year-old youth, with a semi-automatic pistol, shot himself in the head while chatting with his girlfriend on a video call, inside his residence, reports ANI.
The deceased has been identified as Akash Kumar alias Bunty. According to media reports, the body of the boy was found in his bed with the gun in one hand and mobile phone on the other.
According to reports, the boy had failed an exam and was being pressured by family members to end the relationship with the girl. Investigation revealed that Kumar and the girl had a long video chat before he took the extreme step. The girl told the police that they had a long argument over the phone, reveal media reports.
The girl, who knew some of Kumar's relatives, had reportedly called up one of them when she saw the gun in his hand while chatting with him. However, nobody intervened on time to prevent the incident.
