Acharya Balakrishna, trusted aide of Yoga guru Baba Ramdev and CEO of Patanjali was ranked 26 among the list of individuals having more than Rs 1,600 crore wealth.

Balakrishna, who owns 94 per cent of Patanjali, has wealth amounting to a whopping Rs 25,600 crore, according to Hurun India Rich List report for the year 2016. The report focuses on high net-worth individuals in India and China.

According to media reports, the rich list report revealed that Patanjali expects to have a turnover of Rs 10,000 crore in 2017.

Despite being one of the richest individuals, Balakrishna, who founded Patanjali along with Ramdev, lives a simple life, say reports. He is clad in a simple white kurta and dhoti and prefers to look through printouts instead of using a computer. Although he uses an iPhone, his office does not have a computer.

He works for 15 hours a day and does not take home a salary for himself. According to a report on The Times of India, he claimed to have not taken a single day's leave.

The man has had his share of controversies as well. In 2011, the CBI had arrested him on charges of forgery and cheating. The Enforcement Directorate too had filed a case of money laundering against him, but later gave him a clean chit after the agency found no evidence against him.
