Following the demise of Jayalalithaa, senior AIADMK leader and current Finance Minister O. Panneerselvam took oath as next Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
Along with Panneerselvam, 32 other ministers—all of them members of the previous Jayalalithaa cabinet — were also sworn in at Raj Bhavan by Governor C. Vidyasagar Rao.

Panneerselvam (65), often hailed as Jayalalithaa's 'Man Friday', took oath in the name of God.
This is the third time he is helming the state, acting as a stop-gap arrangement on earlier both occasions when Jayalalithaa was convicted in two separate corruption cases in 2003 and 2014.
After Jayalalithaa was admitted to the hospital in September, Panneerselvam—who has officiated as chief minister earlier too—began looking after the portfolios held by her.
Earlier Panneerselvam was elected the AIADMK legislature party leader to succeed Jayalalithaa who died on Monday night
