After over 100 days of hyper political activity, AIADMK rebel leader O. Panneerselvam seems to have decided to relax for a while. OPS, the man behind all the political storm in an otherwise politically stable Tamil Nadu, has landed at the Arya Vaidya Sala in Coimbatore for a rejuvenation treatment.
According to sources in the OPS faction, the rebel leader will undergo a rejuvenation treatment for relaxing his body and mind for a brief period. Panneerselvam, 66, was admitted to the Arya Vaidya Sala hospital on Wednesday evening. He was accompanied by his wife Vijayalakshmi.
This is the first time, sources say, OPS has chosen to relax in his two decade old active public life. Sources also say that he has gone there for an authentic Ayurveda treatment as his sugar level had shot up in the recent days.
Unlike his late leader Jayalalithaa, who always preferred a hill retreat being in Kodanad whenever she wanted a break, OPS has chosen to be in the plains in Coimbatore, near the footsteps of the blue mountains. Sources also confirm that OPS might not spend more than a week or 10 days there as he doesn't want to miss the bus in a minute to minute changing Tamil Nadu politics.
Before leaving for Coimbatore, OPS had a detailed discussion on Wednesday morning with all the 10 legislators and other party seniors supporting him. It's said that he discussed about offering support to the BJP in the upcoming presidential elections.
