After calling RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan a Congress agent, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy puts his party in another embarrassing position on Monday when he demanded that Delhi Lt Governor Najeeb Jung be dismissed.
Swamy was speaking at a protest venue outside Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence, where BJP MP Maheish Girri is staging a hunger strike after being targeted by the Aam Admi Party over the murder of North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) official M.M. Khan.
Swamy alleged that Jung was working for the Congress party. “Jung should have supported Girri and asked Kejriwal to submit a report,” said Swamy.
Khan, an estate officer with NDMC, was shot dead on May 16, a day before he was expected to pass an order on the terms of the lease of The Connaught, a four-star hotel.
The murder has triggered a political storm with AAP accusing Girri of playing a suspicious role in the crime and demanding his immediate arrest. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday targeted Modi and said the central government was shielding the MP.
