The demand to stop publication of Saamana was made to state election commission by Maharashtra BJP spokesperson Shweta Shalini.  In a letter to election commission she had written that since Saamna happens to be the mouthpiece of Shiv Sena it should not be published on 3 days , February 19th, 20th and 21st especially as it is the day of municipal poll in Mumbai.

"I agree with the view expressed by Naiduji and there is no need to say anything more on this,” said Kumar when asked about state BJP demand.

The union minister said that there is a BJP wave in Mumbai and people will give majority to BJP on 23rd of this month when results for BMC elections will be declared. He was addressing a press conference in Mumbai.

Kumar said that the mood in Mumbai was similar to 2014 Lok Sabha election and people are keen to see the city's transformation under BJP leadership.

He also stated that Mumbai deserves a multi-modal transport and seamless travel facilities like in London.  "This is the mission of Modi government and Fadnavis government," said the minister

The BJP, he said, was committed to make Mumbai a world class health care centre.  "Our government has already taken a decision to cap the prices of stents . Three 'A's—authenticity, affordability and availability—are main focus of our 'healthcare for all' mission," stated Kumar.

He also announced that Mumbai will soon get CICET (Central Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology) and CIPET  (Central Institute of Plastic Engineering and Technology).

Speaking on the occasion, Mumbai BJP president Ashish Shelar criticised young Shiv Sena leader Aditya Thackeray for the remarks made by latter that the days of BJP government are numbered and it is serving a notice period.  "Some Shiv Sena leaders don't understand the issues concerning the city and state. They only understand night bazaars roof top parties. They should speak about only such issues,” said Shelar lashing out at Aditya Thackeray.
