The grenade burst inside the camp causing injuries to nine troopers. Three of them, who sustained grievous wounds, have been shifted to army’s 92 base hospital at Badami Bagh cantonment Srinagar.

“It was the location of the F-180 company which was targeted,'' said CRPF spokesman Rajesh Yadav.

Reinforcements were rushed to the area to augment the security and track down the militants.

Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area. “Searches in the area are presently on,” said Yadav.

This is the second attack in Tral, the hometown of slain Hizbul Mujahadeen leader Burhan Wani, in the last 24 hours.

Two soldiers were injured when militants hurled a grenade at 180 battalion headquarters of CRPF at Tral township in South Kashmir's Pulwama district on Monday evening.

The attack was the fourth in Kashmir since Sunday night. Two security men were injured when militants under the cover of stone pelting hurled a grenade on the security forces at Saraf Kadal in old Srinagar city in the evening.

Militants later fired at the residence of a former minister in Shopian district possibly to snatch the riffles. However, the alert guards immediately retaliated forcing the militants to beat a hasty retreat.
