Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu started operating from the interim state secretariat at Velagapudi in the state capital of Amaravati. Reportedly, Naidu was livid at the municipal administration minister P.Narayana and AP Capital Region Development Authority officials over the low quality of construction of his chambers at the temporary secretariat. Naidu stepped into his new office on Wednesday and conducted meetings with officials.

Naidu was sarcastic and expressed doubts as to whether his office was actually constructed by L&T. Looking at the shoddy work, he wondered if it had been sub-contracted to another company.

Earlier, several ministers had refused to occupy their chambers because they were unhappy with the construction. But once it was renovated, they moved in. In fact, the first cabinet meeting at the Velagapudi secretariat will be held on Thursday.

Naidu was warmly welcomed at the new office of this temporary secretariat. Earlier, he had been conducting work from the camp office in Vijayawada. The CM, in turn, praised the employees, appreciating their sacrifices. Naidu asked them to work for a world-class city and state, with an assurance that he would always stand by them.
