Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu will probably regret his slip of tongue, when he said that Andhra Pradesh ranked number one in corrupt practices and development. This was during the heated debate in the Assembly, in the midst of bickering between government and opposition leader Jaganmohan Reddy.

The chief minister was reacting to a NCAER report which was quoted by Jaganmohan Reddy. Naidu, at the end of his tether, then said, "In the entire country, AP ranks number one in corruption, and also in development."

As in everyday assembly business, the opposition in Andhra Pradesh, the YSRCP kept heckling Naidu, who was replying and giving thanks to the governor for his address. Jaganmohan kept saying that Naidu was "factually incorrect" on the government's spend over welfare and even other issues. And that is when he mentioned the National Council for Applied Economic Research (NCAER) which had placed AP at the top in corruption. The assembly was in total disarray after this quote and Jaganmohan's mike was switched off.

An agitated Naidu talked about what his government was doing for the welfare of various sections and the steps initiated for the development. And then went on to say "In the entire country, AP ranks number one in corruption and also in development."
