Muslim youth held for objectionable comments against Modi

Madhya Pradesh police has arrested a muslim youth named Riyaz Khan for posting ‘objectionable’ comment against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on social media. He was arrested on Thursday after a criminal case was registered against him on a memorandum submitted by the youth wing of BJP.

Riyaz Khan, 20, a resident of Lal Colony in Sehore district’s Nasrullaganj, had reportedly posted obscene remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a Whatsapp group. The youth wing of BJP, Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha took exception to this and filed a case against Khan in Nasrullaganj police station.

According to police inspector Niranjan Sharma, the case was registered under section 500 and 505 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) under criminal case number 729/17. 

Khan was later arrested and granted bail by magistrate Dasrath singh as the sections are bailable. His mobile handset was confiscated and taken in to custody for forensic investigation. Incidentally, Nasurllaganj is part of assembly constituency of Budhni, represented by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh.
