Mamata Banerjee calls Modi a thief, traitor

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee seems to be in no mood to end her tirade against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

At a government programme organised in Birbhum district in which many senior IAS and IPS officers were present, she claimed that as many as120 people were killed in the country while waiting at the ATM queues after the Centre's demonetisation move. “I don’t know whether he knows it or not. Around 120 people have died so far. Who is responsible for it other than Modi?”

Calling the prime minister a thief, she alleged that BJP leaders, including Modi, made huge amount of money. Further, she said Modi will be out of power soon. “You are guest for a few days, I am not. I will be in my position for long but you will have to go. Your end is nearing.”

Mamata said she is not against CBI as it is an institution, but is only opposing the government interference in the functioning of the agency.

“Modi is a traitor and he wants to use CBI for his own purposes. He has arrested Sudip Bandyopadhyay and Tapas Paul. Now he wants to arrest more people,” she said.

The BJP, meanwhile, came down heavily on the CM for using a government platform to abuse prime minister and warned that such actions may land her in prison.
