Karnataka govt launches online platform to showcase its achievements

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday launched “Pratibimba”—a web-based platform to showcase the performance and achievements of his government. With this, Karnataka became the second state after Andhra to launch a web-based platform to showcase the achievements of the state government.

With the state going to polls next year, the “CM's dashboard” is expected to help the ruling party reach out to the common man, to showcase its flagship projects, development work and schemes. The comprehensive platform also acts as a tool to improve efficiency in governance as it facilitates tracking of each project by the citizens. The information is available in both English and Kannada.

The citizens can check out the performance and also track action taken on a different subjects ranging from budget, election manifesto to routine issues. At a time when Siddaramaiah is facing allegations of increasing appeasement of the Ahinda (backward classes, dalits and minorities) groups, Pratibimba is hoped to reflect on “inclusive governance” of the government, which claims to have fulfilled 125 out of the 165 poll promises in the last four years.

“We are accountable to the people of Karnataka and this is our way of ensuring transparency and accountability. It provides information about our key programmes, flagship schemes and projects. This will further the government's development agenda – rooted in economic transformation and social justice,” said Siddaramaiah after launching the platform.

The dashboard will be updated 10th of every month and will give comprehensive information about the progress in every department. It will be expanded to evaluate district level performance too.
