Rakesh Siddaramaiah, son of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, breathed his last at a hospital in Belgium on Saturday. He was 39.
Rakesh was undergoing treatment for acute pancreatitis at Antwerp University Hospital in Brussels. Reports said his mortal remains will reach Bengaluru on Sunday.
Rakesh, the eldest son of Siddaramaiah, had been on a European tour with his friends since last week. He was rushed to hospital on Tuesday after he developed sudden pancreas-related complications. He is survived by his father, mother Parvati, wife Smitha and two children.
Rakesh was to contest from Varuna constituency (his father's constituency), as Siddaramaiah was hoping to shift to Chamundeshwari in the next Assembly elections.
