Jayalalithaa out of danger: Union minister Nadda

Jaya (File) The doctors—pulmonologist G.C. Khilnani, anaesthetist Anjan Trikha, cardiac surgeon Sachin Talwar and cardiologist Rajiv Narang—will soon arrive in Chennai

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa is out of danger, Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda said on Monday.

"She is out of danger but she needs ICU care," Nadda was quoted as saying to a news channel.

Meanwhile, the Centre dispatched a team of specialists from the All India Institute of Medical Science to Apollo Hospital in Chennai where Jayalalithaa is undergoing treatment after suffering cardiac arrest on Sunday evening.

The doctors—pulmonologist G.C. Khilnani, anaesthetist Anjan Trikha, cardiac surgeon Sachin Talwar and cardiologist Rajiv Narang—will soon arrive in Chennai.

Nadda expressed hope that the experts from both Apollo and AIIMS will help in the AIADMK leader's speedy recovery.
