Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, J.Jayalalithaa, has completely recovered and would soon decide when she wants to go back home, Apollo chairman Pratap Reddy informed the media in an ad hoc press meet on Friday in Chennai.
This is the first such interaction by Reddy in the last 44 days after her hospitalisation on the health status of Jayalalithaa. The media was in for a pleasant surprise when Apollo's top man Reddy took to talk about chief minister's health. "Chief minister is getting well and she understands what is going on around her," he said. "Teams of doctors and prayers of millions made this excellent progress possible," he added.
Interestingly, eight days before, the chief minister had affixed her thumb impression in the election affidavit submitted by her three candidates contesting the upcoming by-elections to Aravakurichi, Thanjavur and Thiruparankundram. It was certified by Dr Balaji. “Since the signatory has undergone tracheostomy recently and has an inflamed right hand she is temporarily unable to affix her signature. Hence she has affixed her left thumb impression on her own in my presence,” he noted. Dr Babu Abraham of the Apollo hospital haf signed as witness.
But now, in less than eight days, Apollo's chairman said that she has recovered and would get back home soon. However it is still unknown when this hospitalisation will come to a formal end.
