SPY FIASCO

Irrefutable proof against 'spy' Jadhav: Pak foreign office

For Kulbhushan Jadhav, it is back to being a spy. A day after the Sartaj Aziz, advisor to the Pakistan Prime Minister on foreign relations, admitted in senate chamber that the dossier against Jadhav did not contain “enough” to declare him a spy, the Pakistan foreign office has done a U turn.

“The statement attributed to the advisor is absolutely incorrect,'' a communication issued by the office of the spokesperson read. “The advisor had said that the investigations regarding the network of Kulbhushan Jadhav are ongoing and the dossier shall be completed upon conclusion of the investigation.”

There was “irrefutable proof'' against Jadhav, who has made a “public confession''-- the foreign office statement read. The sparring over dossiers between the two countries -- with India submitting long and detailed documents on various attacks in its soil -- is nothing new.

Jadhav was arrested on the charge of “spying'' in Balochistan early in 2016. Pakistan claims that he is a commander-rank officer in the Indian Navy, while India has maintained that he was a businessman who retired from the Navy. Pakistan has long held India responsible for the unrest in Balochistan. They see Jadhav as the “proof'' they have been looking for.
