Goa police filed a case against Sussanne Khan, ex-wife of Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan, over an alleged Rs 1.87 crore cheating case.
The case was filed after a real estate firm accused Sussanne, who is an entrepreneur and designer, of falsely projecting herself as an architect to secure contract with the company.
Emgee Properties entered into a contract with Sussanne in September 2013 after she represented herself as an architect and designer by profession.
A TOI report said the project concerned was Emgee Properties' Naira Complex being constructed at Siridao in Tiswadi, North Goa. According to the report, Mudhit Gupta, managing partner of Emgee Properties filed the complaint after Sussanne failed to deliver the project within the period stipulated in the contract.
The complainant said that the company had disbursed 1.87 crore to Sussanne. As her work was not up to the standards, the company started suspecting her profession and demanded that she furnish her registration number.
Later they found that Sussanne was not a registered architect. The case was filed against her under Section 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code.
