Patidar pro quota stir leader Hardik Patel's factor appears to have left impact in Kutch-Saurashtra region of Gujarat, even as the leads in the region suggest that the Congress was ahead in 29 seats and BJP in 25 seats.
In 2012, the BJP had won 35 seats and the Congress 16. The Gujarat Parivartan Party had won 2 seats and NCP 1.
Saurashtra region has a strong Patidar population and Hardik had organised several rallies in the region. In one of the last meetings he held in Rajkot, more than 50,000 people had gathered to listen to him.
Near Amreli, Hardik had also organised a road show a few kilometers away from the place where Prime Minister Narendra Modi was addressing a public meeting.
