The ongoing controversy over the alleged anti-national activities in Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru University seems to be far from the end. As the entire nation and the Parliament debate the issue, fresh posters emerged on the campus citing 'judicial murder'of Yakub Memon, an Indian terrorist who was hanged after being convicted in the 1993 Bombay bombings.
The new posters reportedly called India a 'Prison of different nationalities' and were put up on the campus on Friday night. They attacked the government for not allowing difference of opinion and for clipping wings of dissidence.
According to a report, the posters were put up outside the Godavari hostel in the university premises last night.
The fresh posters emerged on a day when arrested students Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya’s police remand extended to two more days.
The prestigious university has been in the middle of a storm after its students union president Kanhaiya Kumar was arrested over the controversial Afzal Guru event held on the campus on February 19 and the alleged raising of anti-India slogans.
