Haryana Chief Minister Manohal Lal Khattar has launched DigitalBJP, a mobile cloud based application specially designed for the Bharatiya Janata Party, with the objective of connecting its office-bearers and workers across the country down to the Mandal level to a central information repository.

The DigitalBJP project follows the vision of Digital empowerment to all members of the party under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Party President Amit Shah. The application has been developed by Newgen Software.

The cloud based application was launched for the Haryana unit of the party on Thursday and will be gradually scaled up to cover the entire country within the next 12 months. The DigitalBJP is envisaged to become a single central source for all related information right from day-to-day activities to the historical information. The platform is well integrated with social media to quickly disseminate information, giving the party a great competitive advantage.

At full scale, close to 12000-15000 party office bearers at various levels will eventually be able to upload content to the platform apart from party workers who will be able to view and share the content.

"This is a first of its kind initiative by any political party in the country and yet again proves how progressive, in-tune with modern times and far ahead, the BJP is from the rest in terms of technology adoption. The DigitalBJP project is part of a larger office modernisation programme which the party has undertaken under the visionary leadership and guidance of the Honourable prime minister", said Arvind Gupta, National Head of BJP's IT cell.
