The citation of the Nobel Peace Prize given to Indian child rights activist Kailash Satyarthi in 2016  has been recovered in a jungle in the Sangam Vihar area. It was stolen when Satyarthi' s house was burgled on February 7.

The Delhi police had been tracing the citation every nook and corner of the national capital as well as surrounding areas. The replica of the medal was also stolen, but recovered within a week.

A hunt following the interrogation of the accused who had allegedly stolen the medal led the police to the jungle. The citation was found near a rock.

The Nobel Laureate's office said the citation was in a pristine condition.

Said a happy Satyarthi, " I am thankful to the Delhi police for their efforts to recover the Nobel Replica and the original citation. The Nobel belongs to every Indian citizen and child. Since I am the son of a policeman, I have always understood their sense of responsibility and commitment towards the nation."
