Families of Uri matryrs honoured

It was a moment of honour as well as deep pain as the families of martyrs of the September 18 Uri strike, gathered in the national capital on Saturday. They were honoured by minister of state for Home Kiren Rijiju.

The families of the martyrs were honoured by the minister at a privately organised function Saturday evening where he met the near and dear ones of those who sacrificed their life in the line of duty. Rijiju spoke to the families as he honoured them for their sacrifice for the nation .

The martyrs were Subedar Karnail Singh hailing from Jammu and Kashmir, Havildar Ravi Paul (Jammu and Kashmir), Sepoy Rakesh Singh (Bihar), Sepoy Javra Munda (Jharkhand), Sepoy Naiman Kujur, (Jharkhand), Sepoy Uike Janrao (Maharashtra), Havildar NS Rawat (Rajasthan), Sepoy Ganesh Shankar ( Uttar Pradesh), Naik S K Vidarthi (Bihar), Sepoy Biswajit Ghorai, (West Bengal), Lance Naik G Shankar (Maharashtra), Sep G Dalai (West Bengal), Lance Naik RK Yadav (Uttar Pradesh), Sepoy Harinder Yadav (Uttar Pradesh), Sepoy TS Somnath, (Maharashtra), Havildar Ashok Kumar Singh (Bihar), Sepoy Rajesh K Singh (Uttar Pradesh) and Sepoy KV Janardhan. Cricket celebrity Mohammed Azharuddin attended the programme among others.
