India has claimed international support in its current standoff with the Chinese. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said all countries understood that whatever India's actions are appropriate.

"The law is on our side," Sushma Swaraj said in Rajya Sabha, responding to series of questions on the current situation ALONG the China border.

Explaining the situation at the border, Swaraj said India-China border was yet to be demarcated, as was China and Bhutan. "According to 2012 agreement between India and China, all three countries at the Bhutanese tri-junction have jurisdiction and the issues will be decided by them.”

"China has been constructing and repairing roads since them. But this time, they came with a bulldozer and they want to point out that the status quo is changed,” Swaraj added.

If they change the status quo of tri-junction, our security is affected, she said.

Talking about the South China Sea, she said India's position was very clear. "There should be freedom of navigation and unimpeded commerce."

As Chinese want to be a maritime power, they are building ports in Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

β€œTo those who say that India is being surrounded, I want to add that India is quite capable of taking care of itself,” she warned.
