On September 25, the BJP will make a show of its elected representatives starting from the Prime Minister to the municipal councilors, to celebrate the birth anniversary of Sangh ideologue Deen Dyal Upadhyaya. The meet is being organised as part of its two-day national executive meeting held here.

The meeting will start on September 24 with BJP chief Amit Shah chairing a review meet of his office bearers. This will be followed by the meeting of all the elected representatives as Upadhaya's birth centenary is coming to a close on September 25.

The meeting assumes significance as it comes ahead of assembly elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. Shah is likely to review preparations for these state elections.

The September 25 event seems to be a big one, as it is being held in the Talkatora stadium here. Sources said the party would adopt the government programme of Sankalp Se Siddhi. Narendra Modi had called for creating a New India by 2022 during which country would make vast progress in terms of infrastructure, removing poverty and doubling farmers' income.

Prime Minister is likely to seek the help of the party to make the government's goal successful. By adopting the 2022 goal of making a New India, the prime minister has created an impression that he would get a second term after 2019 elections. This careful positioning of the year 2022 for achieving goals is aimed at rallying support of people.

As pressure has slowly started building on the party and the government due to rise in petrol prices and likely slowdown in economy, Modi and Shah would give a message to the party men to go to their respective constituencies to make people aware of reasons for such trends.

As the September 25 meeting would witness gathering of 281 Lok Sabha MPs, 56 Rajya Sabha MPs and 1400 MLAs, the biggest number reached by the BJP since its inception in 1980.

As Upadhyaya's philosophy has been about giving benefits to the poor, Modi and Shah are again likely to harp on making their government and party responsive to the poor and the marginalised.
