BJP has called a meeting of all its chief ministers on Sunday to give a further push to the Modi government's schemes.

The meeting will be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in the presence of BJP chief Amit Shah and several union cabinet ministers like Rajnath Singh, Venkaiah Naidu, Sushma Swaraj and Nitin Gadkari. This is the second meeting since Modi government assumed power in 2014. The last meeting was held in August 2016.

Chief ministers from 13 BJP ruled states, and five deputy CMs, will be closeted with the party leaders at the BJP headquarters. The CMs will talk about the pro-poor initiatives taken by their governments, and some of the innovative schemes run by them. This will help other CMs to bounce ideas.

Prime Minister Modi will address the meeting. The CMs will likely be asked to propagate the Centre's schemes and initiatives like constitutional status for backward classes and removal of red beacon lights from the official cars, a step in direction of ending VIP culture in the country.
