The BJP has decided that it won’t let the BHU incident be politicised. After active intervention by the Congress and the SP(Samajwadi party), an alarm bell has started ringing for the BJP. The party has decided to take stern action against those responsible.

The party has recommended strong action against the guilty.

The BJP condemned the lathi charge on the agitating students and has projected that it wants a strong action in the entire matter.

The party has obtained the resignation of the chief proctor O.N. Singh  and, according to party sources, the vice chancellor may soon resign.

Meanwhile an inquiry panel set up by the SP(Samajwadi Party) has submitted its report to its national president Akhilesh Yadav. It held the BHU administration and the district police for worsening the matter. Before this, the SP workers had demonstrated at the main gate of the BHU.

After the incident, the BHU administration has made up its mind to make comprehensive changes in the security arrangements. The main gate will have ultra-modern cameras. All girls hostels will be connected with a CCTV network, and female security personnel will be deployed at girls’ hostels.

The main demand of the agitating students was to tighten security arrangements after alleged molestation of a girl on the campus. The administration has come out with two control room numbers which will function 24x7, where any complaint can be registered.
