West Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh, on Friday, made a veiled attack against the central party leadership.

Ghosh, who is in north Bengal to oversee the organisation of the party, hours before Rajnath Singh’s tour in Kolkata, said he expected the central leadership of the party, if not help them, would refrain from spoiling their chances.

Ghosh said, “The Contai assembly bypoll confirms the fact that it is only a matter of time before we emerge victorious. At this juncture, I would expect that if central leadership does not help, them it should not spoil our chance.”

When asked for specifics, he refused to elaborate.

Ghosh was trying to draw attention to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 20 minute meet with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. There was no clear message as to what transpired. Mamata told mediapersons that she wanted to draw Modi’s attention to state’s financial situation.

But West Bengal BJP feels that the central leadership should not pause CBI investigation in chit fund and Narada sting operation scam just to appease Mamata.

“If they do, that would not help us any way. We don’t need any help from the central leadership. But we don’t want them to spoil our chances in the coming series of elections just to get support in Rajya Sabha,” said a senior leader of the party who is a general secretary in the state unit.
