A shocking incident, which is nothing short of a blatant violation of human rights, involving a right-wing activist group has come to light in Haryana.
A video has surfaced showing a few members of the so-called Gau Raksha Dal (Cow Protection Group) forcing two “beef transporters” to eat a mixture of cow dung, cow urine, milk, curd and ghee as a “punishment.”
The footage of the incident, which took place on June 10, was accessed by The Indian Express.
According to the newspaper, two victims identified as Rizwan and Mukhtiar were being forced by members of the group to eat the concoction even as they were urged to shout slogans such as "Gau Mata Ki Jai” and “Jai Shri Ram."
The victims were given water by the group members in an attempt to wash the cow dung down their throats.
Dharmendra Yadav, president of the Gurgaon Gau Rakshak Dal, claimed that that based on a tip off, he and his supporters intercepted a car on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway and found “700 kg of beef”
“We had to chase the car for 7 km before we finally managed to stop them near the Badarpur border. When we caught them, they had 700 kg of beef in their car. We made them eat the panchgavya to teach them a lesson, and also to purify them,” Yadav said, according to The Indian Express.
According to the reports, men could be seen throwing up on the roadside before the video comes to an abrupt end.
The police have said that they were able to confirm that the meat found in the car was the beef, which was later destroyed.
While Rizwan and Mukhtiar were arrested under the Prohibition of Cow Slaughter Act and sent to judicial custody, the police have claimed that they had no information on the gruesome incident.
“This did not happen in police presence… If this video is genuine, this calls for a case,” Faridabad police PRO Sube Singh was quoted as saying in the newspaper report.
