In a jolt to former union home minister L.K. Advani and other BJP leaders like M.M.Joshi and Uma Bharti, a CBI special court in Lucknow rejected their discharge petition.
All the accused have been charged with criminal conspiracy in felling the Babri Masjid on Dec 6, 1992. The accused had argued against the allegations of criminal conspiracy and maintained that they had no role in pulling down the Babri mosque.
The charges have been framed by the court. The trial will commence shortly. The accused will now move the High Court against the verdict of the CBI special court. Earlier, the court had granted bail to all accused.
