Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu made history on Wednesday morning at 8.09 am by signing the loan waiver of the DWACRA loans in his new office at Velagapudi. This office will serve as the interim Secretariat for the Andhra Pradesh government.

The administration has partially shifted out from the common capital of Hyderabad. For the people of AP, the office at Velagapudi has moved the administration and the government closer to people as they do not need to come all the way to Hyderabad.

Though some employees had shifted on October 3, they were waiting Dussera to be over to make a new start. As Naidu, too, moves in they will have to be on their toes.

A couple of officers will continue to operate from the Hyderabad secretariat as all departments are planning to keep some employees in Hyderabad secretariat. The Telangana government will have to wait for some more time as the AP government vacates their offices.

Issues of institutions under Section 9 and 10 of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act still linger, as AP government has  decided to retain the offices of Head of the Departments (HoDs) and Lake View Guest House. AP can use all these buildings up to 10 years after the state bifurcation.
