Days after the brutal murder of a girl in Chennai allegedly by her stalker, here comes another shocker from a few hundreds miles away from the city. A 17-year-old girl was killed in full public view at Adialabad in Telangana on Saturday by a man after she reportedly rejected his advances.

According to reports, Sandhya, a resident of Gopal Nagar in Bhainsa, was bled to death after she was attacked by the accused who repeatedly slit her throat with a kitchen knife.

The accused, identified as M. Mahesh (22), is a neighbour of Sandhya and has been arrested after he was caught and handed over to police by the locals.

Reports said the victim had earlier lodged a police complaint against the accused after he allegedly harassed her last year.

According to some reports, Sandhya had a relationship with Mahesh about one-and-a-half years ago. However Sandhya turned down his proposal after her parents decided to marry her off to another person prompting him to take revenge.

Last week, Swathi, an 18-year-old techie, was hacked to death at Nungambakkam railway station in Chennai in full public view last week sending shock waves across the city which was otherwise dubbed as safe comparing to other major cities in the country. The accused fled the spot but was arrested days after from Tirunalveli.
