Following a resounding victory in Assam and an encouraging mandate in Kerala in recently concluded Assembly elections, the Narendra Modi government has grand plans to celebrate two years in power at the Centre.
The government's grand star-studded event on May 28 to commemorate the second anniversary of the Modi government may be hosted by Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan. However, there is no official confirmation on the information yet.
The event will take place at India Gate, a popular weekend destination for Delhiities.
The preparations are underway for the event , which is expected to highlight the achievements of the Modi government in areas like farmers issue, poverty, youth, women and general topics.
According to the reports, the five-hour event is likely to have debates and speeches built around the works of the government coupled with cultural events. The government is inviting other Bollywood celebrities for the event, which will also be attend by the prime minister as well.
The state-owned Doordarshan will broadcast the event live.
The event is part of the BJP's public outreach programme, which will take place across the country. The BJP has launched 'Vikas Parv' to celebrate the completion of two years in power at Centra and in Gujarat between May 22 and May 26 across the state.
