According to sources, he was arrested rom the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport of Ahmedabad when he returned from Riyadh.

More details are awaited.

Thirty-two persons had lost their lives in the attack on the temple on September 24, 2002.

It was said that the temple was attacked to avenge 2002 post-Godhra riots in which more than 1,000 persons, mostly Muslims, had lost their lives.

The commandos, who were flown in from New Delhi, had gunned down two alleged terrorists, who were reportedly under 25 years of age. The cross-firing had lasted for several hours.

The Akshardham Temple is just a couple of kilometres away from the Governor's House (The Raj Bhavan) and the chief minister's official residence.
