The video of a 60-year-old woman mercilessly thrashing her frail, 85-year-old mother has gone viral on social media. The incident happened in southeast Delhi's Kalkaji on Sunday.
The video, which caused much outrage after it was widely viewed and shared on Facebook, shows the daughter dragging the mother inside the house after a spat and slapping her on the face when the mother refuses to budge. The elderly lady is seen covering her face and crying.
After the video went viral, the police contacted Preetpal Singh, who shot the video, to collect the details. However, the old woman refused to lodge a complaint.
The woman, who was thrashing and abusing her mother, also threatened Singh after she noticed that her act was being videographed.
According to media reports, the neighbours of the mother-daughter duo said this was a regular affair.
Singh said he decided to videograph the incident as the daughter used to regularly abuse and harass her mother, but the matter was never reported to the police.
