The Delhi police launched a massive manhunt after a blue-beacon installed SUV was stolen in Noida on Wednesday in the wake of security alert for the Republic Day celebrations.

The Tata Safari of ITBP Inspector General (IG) Anand Swarup with the registration number CH-01 GA 2915 was stolen from his residence following which the Noida police have been put on alert, according to media reports.

An FIR was lodged by the top cop after the vehicle went missing. The SUV, which as purchased a few moths ago, has an ITBP flag, two-star police IG plate apart from the blue beacon.

All efforts are on to trace the vehicle in the wake of the recent attack on Pathankot airbase in which the terrorists managed to get hold of the vehicle of a Punjab SP to reach the spot to launch the deadly attack.

Police ruled out the possibility of the SUV having been stolen by terrorists and said it could have been done by small-time criminals.

Meanwhile, the Delhi police have arrested four people who allegedly were in touch with the militant outfit ISIS.
